About the Library

The Daly City Public Library provides library services to the residents of the City of Daly City (population 103,621-U.S. Census 2000). Daly City is the largest city in San Mateo County and is located immediately south of the City and County of San Francisco. The Library also serves residents of the Town of Colma and unincorporated Broadmoor. Daly City is proud of its vibrant and ethnically diverse urban community. In 1996, Asian Week.com identified Daly City as one of the "Capitals of Asian America" with Filipinos constituting the largest ethnic group. Daly City is 50.3% Asian, 22.3% Hispanic or Latino, 17.7% white, 4.3% African American, 3.9% Two or More Races, and 1.5% Other.
