Exam Proctoring

Distance education students can have written and online exams proctored at any of our locations. All exams are proctored by professional librarians in the Library.

At the Serramonte Main Library, exams can be taken any time during open hours as long as there is enough time allowed to finish at least 30 minutes before closing. An appointment is not necessary unless special accommodations need to be made. At the Westlake, John Daly, and Bayshore libraries hours are limited and an appointment is required.

Requirements

Bring photo ID and, for those claiming the resident discount, proof of residence.
Either the student or the examining institution must provide a return envelope and postage.
Bring any supplies—pens, pencils, scantrons, bluebooks, floppy disks, etc.—not provided by your school.

Fees

Proctoring fees are as follows:

Daly City residents: $25.00
Non-residents: $35.00

For tests taken on the same day, each test after the first is only $5.00
An additional $5 fee is charged if faxing is requested
Printing is 15¢ per page

All fees are payable just prior to taking the exam. The Library accepts:

Cash (no bills larger than $20)
Personal checks (California residents only, name and current address must be printed on check)
Credit cards (Visa or MasterCard)
